Want more people to see you as an expert? Up your brand and credibility with these marketing tips. 

1. Stay on Top of Business Trends.  If you don’t live in Hawaii, you probably have to change your wardrobe based on the season.  Same thing with your business. You may need to adapt your business based on the latest trends. Don’t be a Blockbuster and fail to predict the evolution of renting to streaming. That’s not going to help your business.  

 2. Understand Your Brand’s Reputation. Think about how your brand is seen in the eyes of your next customer. Pay attention to Google reviews, Facebook reviews, and what people are saying about you – in person or heaven forbid, behind your back. Anything negative going on? Make it a priority to fix it. 

3. Track Your Website’s Performance. As a marketer if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. The same goes for your business’ website. To know how your website is helping or hurting your business, start checking your website’s reporting. One way is to look atyour bounce rate. That shows if visitors stay on your website or click out. The goal is to keep them reading.  

5. Create Content as Industry Expert. Write, produce, shoot video – it all counts. Share content through social media that relates to your business and tells the world — you’re an expert! It reminds people why they should buy from you. Mix it up and share articles, links and posts that are educational, fun, and related to your industry so you don’t look salesy or needy, which might even be worse.Plus, it shows that you’re someone they can trust (and hopefully buy from).
