Did you know that almost 75% of customers won’t take action until they read reviews. In fact, 15% of users don’t trust businesses without reviews, and only about 6% of consumers don’t trust customer reviews at all. And it’s no surprise that Google accounts for 57.5% of all reviews worldwide.
Sharing positive feedback online isn’t only important to grow your business, it’s a critical part of promoting your social brand. Make it part of your marketing strategy.
4 Ways to Get More Customer Reviews
- Ask for reviews before you close the sale. Let your client know that you plan to provide them with the best service possible, then ask if they’d be willing to review you once you finish the work, or your transaction is complete. If they forget or they’re just too busy, remind them later, in a nice way, that they said they’d leave a review. They’re more likely to actually write a review if they promised they would if you’re in person.
- Any time you’re sending your customer a deliverable, do it with the best customer service possible, and then ask for a review. For example, you could say something like “We should have everything wrapped up next week. I hope you’ve been happy with the process, and I’d really appreciate it if you could leave me a review.” Then name the channel where you’d like it posted. Google My Business, Facebook, Houzz and so on.
- Set yourself up for success and create an automated review-asking process. Schedule one social media post per month and ask your following to review you. You can also send automated emails to your list asking for reviews. If you have a list of people who haven’t purchased from you yet, ask them to leave a review or your blog or other content that’s helped them somehow. The point is, you have to have a program in place and follow it.
- If someone left you a 5-star review ask them to PLEASE post it to other platforms to piggyback on their positive experience. You can also post it too, in a mindful way as part of your marketing and PR campaign.
