You can’t even get out of bed without being bombarded by social media. Mobile phones, iPads, retargeting and all those notifications… So how can you make the most of it, listen in.
1. Connect with your audience. Social media is a great place for people to connect, which is why it’s so popular. Like, react, and reply to comments. Give people opportunities to participate in polls, chats, and live streams. Connecting is what it’s all about.
2. Focus on customer care. When you respond to what people want, it shows that you’re listening and tells them you care; that you’re not just in it for the money.
3. Build a community. Use social media to create a sense of trust and belonging with your community – or whoever your audience may be. Trust builds loyalty and believability.
4. Don’t invest too much money into marketing. This last tip may seem counterproductive, but it’s true. Most people follow brands they already like, know and trust, so social media may not be the perfect platform for reaching new clients quickly. Instead, focus on building a strong community of supporters.
