Even though Instagram doesn’t publicly show how many people like your posts, getting likes is still relevant for virality and reach. So how can you get more?

  1. Join a pod. No, I’m not saying to become a pod person or an alien. An instagram pod is a group of 10 to 15 people in a niche who agree to engage with each other’s content. It creates authentic engagement and comments to boost your visibility. If you can’t find a pod, reach out to other professionals and make your own.
  2. Let an influencer take over your account for a day. Create relationships with influencers who share your target audience and ask them to take over your account for a day. It will bring new awareness to your brand, get you new followers and earn you some credibility.  Some influencers charge for takeovers, but you could offer goods or services in return for their help. If you have a decent following, pitch it as a way to grow their list.
  3. Take a stance on something controversial. Share your view on something that’s often argued about or is a major news topic. You probably will get some negative backlash, but attention is attention. Good or bad, people are taking notice.

Sure, you can create “savable” content for your feed, Write longer captions, open up about your business and brand — plus add more video to your grid, but you can be use non-traditional ways too, without being crazy.  GIve them a try.
